Life with Dogs in Vermont
Dog lovers will love the Burlington area and what we have to offer for owners and their favorite pets. In Burlington alone, the Starr Farm Park dog park is located just north of the skate board park along the waterfront. It is a large, fenced-in area overlooking the bluff, Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. It is a scenic hideaway just off the path that meanders along the lake. Further north on the bike path, there is another dog park out towards Appletree Bay. Again you can walk your dog there on the bike path or ride your bike or drive there.
In South Burlington, Gulliver's Doggie Day Care is open 365 days a year. They have many activities to keep your dog busy while you're at work or out of town. South Burlington also has an unofficial dog park on Patchen Rd, right across the street from the small subdivision on Valley Ridge Rd. It is an old baseball field that is not completely fenced in; it also has a few hiking trails beyond it where the dogs can run free. It's accessible year round. Parking is available.
